22 people, including children killed and at least 59 people injured in an attack during a pop concert of US star Ariana Grande in the city of Manchester. Police said the man behind the Manchester Arena suicide attack died on the spot.
The blast happened just after 10:30 pm outside the venue in a public area. This attack left every single person fleeing in terror, where one witness claimed the ‘bodies were everywhere’.
One US official said, “This does not appear to have been a carefully planned attack involving multiple actors, extensive surveillance of the target or exotic materials. That is what is so worrisome about this kind of thing – how simple it is to indiscriminately kill, wound and terrorize innocent people. With our partners, the US has begun the process of combing through the available intelligence to see if anything was missed.”
The Manchester Arena suicide attack happened in the place, which holds the capacity of 21,000 people. There children were also among the dead.
Bomb disposal teams and ambulances rushed to the venue, where parents and family members were in search for the loved ones. At least two people were waiting outside the venue for their children injured. One said he had been hit by shrapnel in his leg and the other felt heat on the neck.
Ariana Grande wrote about her feelings that, “Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.”
Pakistan Condemns Manchester Arena Suicide Attack
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also condemned the blast in Manchester. Moreover, the Foreign office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said, “Pakistan, itself has been victim of terrorism and denounces terrorism in all forms and manifestations.”
Our prayers are with everyone who lost their loved ones! May their souls rest in peace!
